CORTE CERTO FILMS

Even though Corte Certo's newest optimizer has been designed for solar protection, decoration and security film cut planning, it has also been calling attention from many other industries which need to cut any material in rolls.

Basically it provides:

  • - Automatic calculation of the number of rolls a project requires
  • - Repair fitting calculation
  • - Adding trimming to calculation
  • - Post-edition features, that is, diagrams may be modified with the aid of the mouse.
  • - Diagrams, viewable on screen or printable, with precise indications for the roll cut.
  • - Identification label for the pieces cut
  • - Statistics about the cut plan

Example of operation

This example will allow you to learn, in less than 10 minutes, how to use CC Films’ basic functions. Your basic data are the following:

1 - roll: 1.50 m in height by 30.00 meters in length to be cut into:

2 - pieces: 840 mm x 750 mm
3 - pieces: 880 mm x 799 mm
4 - pieces: 919 mm x 848 mm

First click button for new calculation. Next, using the button roll registration, as shown below:

Enter the information about the roll and click OK

Repeat the same for Pieces spreadsheet.

Click on [Calculate cut].

Done!

The Control Window can be minimized to a button at the center of the tool bar, where the first statistical information about the Project will also be shown: total number of rolls used and general supply.

A Thumbnails Menu is available at the bottom of the screen in order to make previewing easier; the roll is therein represented by one or two rectangles of various widths. Think of these rectangles as sequential parts of the same roll. Though care must be taken, for each roll may have repeats. To determine if a rectangle is a repeat, place the mouse over the rectangle in the Thumbnails Menu

The diagram highlighted in the Thumbnails Menu stands for the piece displayed in larger.

Using the tool bar button, indicated in the screen above, reopen the Control Window in order to:

- VIEW REPORT
- PRINT
- GENERATE LABELS
- SET UP PARAMETERS
- SAVE PROJECTS
- OPEN ARCHIVED PROJECTS

TERMINOLOGIA

- Roll: the flat material (rolled onto a spool) to be cut into smaller-sized rectangles referred to as pieces. Synonymous with: spool.

- Piece: a rectangular piece of material to be cut from the roll.

- Project: a set or list of rectangular pieces to be cut from a determined roll(s).

- Cut Plan: each of the diagrams containing the position of cut pieces. For a better understanding, CCFilms displays, in the Thumbnails Menu, the parts of the roll used as pieces of different widths, as if they were sheets, thereby allowing each to be previewed and re-edited separately. Synonyms: Cut map, diagram, assembly.

- Control Window: the window that opens in the middle of the screen, and used to define project parameters and perform calculation. If closed, the Control Window will be minimized to a button on the main tool bar, which must be clicked in order to preview the cut plans.

- Thumbnails Menu: one or more parts of the roll used for the project that appears in a sequence at the bottom of the Cut Plan screen.

- Fragments: pieces of the plate leftover after the cut process that can still be used due to their appropriate dimensions. These fragments may be labeled so that it can be identified for future cuts. In diagrams, fragments are identified by the color yellow.

- Manual Editing: a system to reorganize pieces into a cut plan; produced automatically by the program, using the mouse and tools supplied by CCFilms. Also called the post-editing.

- External pieces: pieces that have been removed from a cut plan for manual editing.

- Current cut plan: cut plan in progress (amplified) as opposed to other projects.
